Hi, I am Aleks!

Human first and a lover of life.

A scientist, podcast host and trainee psychotherapist dedicated to supporting you to transform overachieving burnout, stress and stuckness into fulfilling self-confidence and authentic success.

I am deeply in touch with my vulnerability and humanness and informed, rather than overwhelmed by it.

I have always been fascinated by understanding reality from within and outside of me. A word that is a driving force in my life is curiosity, and that drive has taken me places I could never imagine to visit. As a world leading biomedical researcher I am passionate about science and rational thought and how can we use it to make our lives more pragmatic. As a yoga teacher, dancer and trainee psychotherapist I am interested in the intuitive, the creative, the expressive and how can we use that to make our lives richer. Always facing the unknown I have learned how to look at it with ease and grace and would like to share the practical know-how of doing that in our work together.

People describe working with me as spontaneous, creative and diverse.

My journey to become a therapist

My journey into therapy wasn’t planned; it was more of a stumble, a surrender to the unknown. But in that surrender, I found something profound: myself.

Growing up with plenty of time but also a sense of scarcity, I often daydreamed about reshaping my reality. Science drew me in, offering both an outlet for my curiosity and a path to finding a sense of stability in developed countries.

Unaware why,  I was always interested in the things bellow the surface, the unseen and yet rich in life and vitality that brews in all of us. My mum told me that she had to teach me to read at the age of 3 because I would not stop asking questions and asking her to read things to me during our walks.

Being from the Balkans, I’ve traversed the battlegrounds of my own internal conflicts, seeking reconciliation in the midst of chaos. The great internal divide, born from the horrors of war, held both the potential for grief and an equal measure of capacity for joy. In this region, music and song become powerful conduits for fierce energy shaping my inner fire.

Books were my safe haven and a way to travel without risks, although they also kept me within the confines of my own ideas and thought. Despite this, some internal restlessness pushed me to explore the world. From Belgrade to Switzerland to London, each move forced me to confront new realities. Shedding old beliefs felt like small deaths, and I leaned on therapists to navigate these transitions.

My first therapist suggested to try some gentle movement practice. Yoga practice and training was the first time I gained awareness about how disengaged I was from my bodily experience. It was truly a place as Lexy Florentina says “Where soul meets soma.” This initial step was followed by a myriad of other explorations—family constellations, tarot readings, dream analysis, and more. With each tool, I rediscovered myself, inching closer to a sense of home within. It was my second therapist who made a pivotal difference in supporting me to make my body a safe home to reside in. As I received her and other people’s love and support, I felt compelled to pay it forward. Now, as a therapist myself, I aim to spread the same compassion I received, fostering understanding and unity in a world marked by uncertainty.

My mission is to foster a world where compassion and understanding bridge the gaps created by the capricious nature of fortune. Together, let us stand united in the face of uncertainty, recognizing that, in our shared vulnerability, we find our greatest strength.

Thank you for reading my story and I am grateful for the privilege to be joining yours.
